Phenomenology of Interpellation. Call, Patience, and Gifted Subjectivity

Abstract
This article develops a phenomenology of the call that precedes the subject and constitutes it as both called and patient. In dialogue with Jean-Luc Marion, Jean- Louis Chrétien, and Edmund Husserl, it examines how the call—far from being an object for intentionality—imposes itself as a gift that affects and summons, inaugurating a non-original (gifted) subjectivity. Through experiences such as
love and vocation, the article shows that the call demands an infinite response, where patience operates as a temporal structure of openness to the unexpected. The critique of the metaphysical subject reveals that interpellation is not exhausted in an act but redefines subjectivity as indebtedness and fidelity to what has been received.
