Who Is Nietzsche’s Last Human? The Task of the Philosophy of the Future in the Age of Consummate Nihilism

Abstract
The article offers an interpretation of the last human in relation to the critical situation that generates the consummation of metaphysics. The last human is the
one who no longer sees any alternatives other than having to adapt to a reality that has become an absolute flow that leads all forms of life to disintegrate into nothingness. For Nietzsche, however, in the twilight character of the last human there is also the possibility of reactivating the tragic sense of existence, which, based on the rediscovered irreducible tension between flow and form, assumes the task of inventing new forms that promote the inexhaustible diversity of the economy of existence.
